Act Now: Contact Your Louisville Metro Council Member

News | Press Release

Louisville’s Metro Council will soon vote on an important proposal from Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell (District 15). She has decided to reallocate funds that were originally reserved for the Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Birthing Center, which UofL has indefinitely put on hold. Councilwoman Chappell’s plan would keep the funding in the South End and invest it where it is most needed in our community’s health and wellness. Her proposal includes:

  • $500,000 to help renovate Family Health Centers – Americana
  • $500,000 to support school-based health centers in South End schools

These projects will expand care, improve access, and truly make a difference for families in the South End.

ACT TODAY:

The budget hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 6.
