Pediatrics

Pediatric Care

Your child’s pediatrician is your trusted source for health and medical information.   Family Health Center’s pediatric care includes:

  • Well-child  Checks: Checkups are due at age 2-4 weeks, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months, 2, 2½, and 3 years, and yearly after age 3
  • Sick visits for when your child is sick and you need to see your provider soon
  • Immunizations required for preschool and primary school entry
  • School or sports physicals
  • Help managing conditions like ADHD or asthma

Early Childhood Development Services

Family Health Centers helps babies and young children grow, learn, and reach important milestones. Our team supports children from birth to age 5 and works closely with parents and caregivers.

What We Provide

  • Helping new mothers with Lactation Support
  • Developmental screenings during well-child visits to check how your child is growing, learning, and communicating
  • Early help when concerns are found, with referrals to specialists and early intervention programs
  • Family Navigators who help parents schedule services and connect to community resources
  • Care coordination to make sure children receive the support they need as quickly as possible

Support for Parents and Families

We also offer programs and resources that support healthy child development:

  • Free family playgroups
  • Age-appropriate books provided during well-child visits that help speech and reading development
  • Educational toys and learning materials for families
  • Transportation support to help families attend appointments
  • Low-cost car seats and safety resources for parents
  • Community learning opportunities, including family passes to the Kentucky Science Center and the Louisville Zoo
