Two New School-Based Health Clinics to Open in JCPS
Family Health Centers to operate clinics at Moore, PRP with funding from Jewish Heritage Fund and Louisville Metro Government.

Mayor Greenberg with Jeff Polson, CEO of Jewish Heritage Fund and Superintendent Yearwood announce two additional school based clinics will be open by the Family Health Centers.
LOUISVILLE, KY – Students at two additional Jefferson County Public Schools will soon have access to health services that have already been transformative for Iroquois High School. Over the course of the 2026-27 school year, Family Health Centers will open new clinics at Marion C. Moore School and Pleasure Ridge Park High School, adding to the number of JCPS schools that have a clinic.
Family Health Centers has operated the district’s only clinic of its kind at Iroquois High School. Since opening its doors at Iroquois in January 2024, the clinic has cared for more than 1,800 students and staff, delivering more than 6,000 visits. By November of that year, behavioral health services were expanded as a full-time service. This past summer, with the help of Jewish Heritage Fund, the clinic added on-site dental services.
“This clinic has shown the importance of meeting students where they are,” JCPS Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood said. “Bringing this care directly to students removes barriers like transportation, and students are staying more engaged in school, because when their health needs are met, they can show up ready to learn.”
“Having two additional clinics inside of these schools is going to pay dividends for the community,” CEO of Family Health Centers Dr. Bart Irwin said. “More clinics means more PRP and Moore students, staff, and their household members, will be able to have access to quality healthcare at a convenient location.”
Funding for the new clinics comes from two sources. One is from a reallocation of Louisville Metro Government’s budget that will enable Family Health Centers to take over operations of a previously closed clinic housed at Pleasure Ridge Park HIgh School.

“This is a practical way to help JCPS students and families in Louisville access high-quality medical care,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said. “I’m proud that we’re able to support the ongoing work of Family Health Centers and grateful to partners like the Jewish Heritage Fund to remove barriers to care, make Louisville healthier, and set our students up for success.”
The second source of funding is the Jewish Heritage Fund. The organization announced an $855,000 commitment to support the buildout and operations of the new clinic at Marion C. Moore School. To date, the Jewish Heritage Fund has committed over $1.6 million to support school-based health clinics.
“School-based health clinics are a powerful tool for increasing access to comprehensive, adolescent-centered health services,” Jewish Heritage Fund CEO Jeff Polson said. “We know that by reducing the barriers to accessing these health services, we help ensure all students have what they need to thrive.”
The expansion has the potential to serve more than 1,000 new patients annually across each of the two new school sites.
