Tentang

Samantha graduated from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work with her Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) in 2013 with a specialization in Gerontology. She loves animals, and she started the first professional animal assisted therapy program in Northeast Florida before moving back to her hometown of Louisville. She has two retired racing greyhounds of her own who are now therapy dogs, and she has served on the board of Greyhound Pets of America Louisville chapter.

Samantha’s clinical foundation incorporates techniques in client-centered, solution-focused therapy, psychoeducation and strengths-based strategies. Samantha also enjoys research and has studied outcomes for cognitive enrichment programs in assisted living as well as stress tolerance of primary in-home caregivers providing care to a loved one with a dementia diagnosis. During her time in research at the University of Louisville School of Nursing, she co-authored an article in the Journal of Gerontological Nursing, and co-launched the first memory café in the City.

Most recently, Samantha has responded to an increased need for services for women struggling with both fertility and infertility related concerns. She has completed training in the treatment of grief and has developed an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of post-partum depression.
