Payroll Assistant

Job Overview

Family Health Centers is currently hiring for a Payroll Assistant.  A successful candidate will experience a fast paced work day, a varied clientele and a supportive team environment.    Examples of work responsibilities in this position include:

  • Heavy electronic timecard review; including ability to comprehend and apply multiple rules and exceptions.
  • Strong data entry skills – new hires, terminations, salary and status changes, employee directed changes, benefits and payroll deductions.
  • Process and review bi-weekly payroll.
  • Generate and customize multiple payroll reports.
  • Process garnishments.
  • Assist with reporting of employee information and wages to KY Public Pension Authority.
  • Working knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, compensation and benefit limits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, payroll forms, procedures and software issues.
  • Audit data for consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality of information.

 

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience processing payroll for over 250 employees.
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience using ADP software, preferably Workforce Now.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Highly organized and motivated; able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Accounting or Human Resources experience a plus.

Unlike other health care systems, there are no 3rd shifts, Sunday or holiday hours you must work.  FHC also provides rich benefits to our employees; the employee benefit package at FHC is valued at approximately 45% of an employee’s annual salary.  In addition to health insurance, Kentucky State Retirement System, staff receive up to 10 paid sick leave days, 12 days of vacation in their first year and up to 22 days, ten paid holidays and a bonus floating holiday to be used anytime in the year.
