When stress or anxiety about family, finances, work, or other causes start to take over it can have a negative impact on our health. Family Health Centers offers Behavioral Health Consultations Services to our patients to help find solutions these issues.
What is Behavioral Health Consultation?
Behavior is action. Our health behavior has a direct relationship to how we feel and how well we function in life.
A Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) can work with you and your medical provider to evaluate the mind-body-behavior connection. They can provide suggestions about how to improve the choices you make about your health. The goal is to create a plan of action that will work best for you.
These services can help you with:
- Anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns
- Alcohol or drug abuse or misuse
- Stress related to health conditions
- Grief and loss issues such as death of a loved one, loss of home or job, etc.
- Quitting smoking
- Weight management
- Physical activity and other related issues
There is no out-of-pocket cost to patients for Behavioral Health Services.
