For nearly 30 years, FHC has been dedicated to keeping our community healthy. When you contribute to FHC, you help keep it healthy. Your financial support helps us bridge the gap between the actual cost of providing quality health care services, and the income FHC receives from grants and fee payments. Most importantly, your support allows us to honor our commitment to keep our services affordable and accessible for everyone in our community who needs us.
While the number of uninsured and underinsured patients seeking care at FHC has grown dramatically in recent years, levels of grant funding and fee reimbursements have seen little change. As a result, the level of uncompensated care FHC has provided has also significantly increased. In spite of this challenge, FHC strives to meet and even expand its mission by pursuing new and alternative revenue sources. Funding is sought from both public and private resources.
Capital Goals and Needs
In general, it is much more difficult to raise capital dollars than program support dollars. This is especially true when a slim operating margin allows little room for capital projects. From small capital projects such as replacing exam room tables, personal computers and laboratory equipment, to large scale projects such as replacing outdated practice management software, renovating an existing practice site or constructing a new one, the needs are great in this area.
